Blogiversary
It was brought to my notice that I completed a year of blogging. He calls it Blogiversary, so i prefered to retain the newly-coined term. It’s a nice feeling. Inspite of less writing, I managed to keep my space active. So, here’s to active blogging in the future so that my blog continues to breathe pure, harmless air.
Adios,

From ( L to R)

Soon to be married..Ninad Kakatkar, the "self-procliamed" agent mi5- Amod Kulkarni, the man who makes me tick- Parag Thorat, the 'Bridget Jones' of the lot- Punit Karnik( and the owner of this blog) , the girl with minimum flesh- Ketaki Lad, the man with the best one liners- Manas Thorat , the entertainer cum story-teller of the gang- Aniket Rahalkar..and the camera guy....who is obviously missing from the scene...Anupam Bhatawdekar

The picture was taken on the occassion of Ninad's pre- wedding lcelebration and the would-be bride, Shraddha Patkar is inconspicuous by her absence.

The Shopper's Stop bag that we are endorsing contained Ninad and Shraddha's gift that cost us a bomb...so that needs a special mention !

Inspired

Friday, 16th March, was the day to get Inspired. And the inspiration was a Blog that displayed immense dedication and material worth going through. I still cannot figure out on how can a blog be responsible for making my day worthwhile. I really have to thank the blogger for doing so. I would be purposely keeping the name of the blogger under wraps for obvious reasons. But, this one is dedicated to the blogger and his blog which became my instant inspiration

On a different note,

Things to be done:

  • Explore www.43people.com

  • Prepare Veg Biryani for 10 people (Huge Task and my first brush with Biryani)

  • visit my blog as often as I can

  • Loose weight

  • Cut off orkutting time

Resurrection !!!
Though it sounds clichéd, I would call it as Resurrection since I have been out of the scene for quite some time. Regular reminders from fellow bloggers and friends were not enough to pull me out of my blogging hiatus.

But, like Mr. Adams puts it…Here I am…..

Back to fine tuning my (non-existing) writing skills…..after all, I reckon this as my ‘Breathing Space’

Here’s a run down on the story so far, starting the month of November….

My Dissertation (a big fat thesis of 20,000 words) kick started. regular meetings with the profs and long hours on the internet will see the end in the month of June………..turned a year wiser in December…….brought in the New year in an extremely special way for the first time in my life so far…..n yeah….most importantly, took up my first media related job…..great exposure, great workplace full of funny characters out from an Ekta Kapoor saga and a Mallu film, makes my job easier and interesting….not to mention that I add the much needed entertainment quotient at the place with my B-town stories ……come January….my trekking group ushered in its 25th adventurous year at Harishchandragad…imagine we had Satyanarayan puja atop 3500 feet above the sea level………….on a more personal level, two of my friends decided to elope and get married…..I thought I was watching a teleserial till I realized that it was happening right in front of my eyes…..but then, today, the same couple is getting married next month amidst various shades of emotions like deceit, hatred, but most importantly love and commitment………And yeah, Saurav Ganguly (yes, the cricketer), in case you are wondering who he is) was back in the team. ..his 8 month hiatus from cricket had left me disheartened, but his comeback makes me believe that the man is not yet done ( I am quite vocal about my admiration for him)..and at present, its not my Dissertation that has occupied my mind…….but it’s the ICC World Cup that is more important to me and any other cricket fanatic.

So before I sign off…Cheers to team India and Saurav Ganguly !!!! and making a promise to myself that this blog would breathe in the future.

When will I stop making typo errors????

Generally, I plan the topic for my blogs, but this is one of the very first spontaneous ones and out of personal anguish. I feel sorry for myself after reading some of my previous blogs where I have made abundant typo eerors. and that's a criminal act on a journalist's partWhenever I glance through my own writing, I feel like here's one journalist who will make her sub-editor slog a lot. I am sure it gives an undignified impression to those who actually take pains to glos over them. Sorry guys!!!!

I should either blame myself (which I do) or the keyboard for not being supportive. Typo errors have really put me in embarassing situations and I am already fed up of apologising after goofing up. I like people making mistakes and apologising to me, not vice-versa.

Thi particular blog is like a pledge , for trying my best to avoid errors and especially livng upto it. Now, I hope I havent made those errors out here. :)

  • A wish-list

Looks like I have no connection with originality. This particular entry is again, inspired from a certain community on Orkut. The post said-Things you would want to do before you die…….since I got no intentions of getting philosophical, I am just giving out a small wish-list of materialistic desires that I cherish and ask for. here it goes some of my wishes-

    1. Wish to write an American bestseller, preferably a thriller. (Now this is definitely not happening in the near future because m and awful storyteller)

    2. Want to host a travel show that will take me to places across the globe. Places that I never imagined I will land on and the best part is at the expense of the producer. (Definitely working on this one)

    3. Have a personal website.

    4. Act in a Hollywood blockbuster and walk down the red carpet on the premieres wearing a Versace evening gown.

    5. Win the Oscar and give an exceptional acceptance speech that will go down the history of the academy ( letting out a secret- I do practice it in front of the mirror)

    6. Tour around the world with the Australian cricket team.

    7. Want to interview Steve Waugh and know the man on a personal level.

    8. get marooned on an island with Abhishek Bacchan (Now, however childish it may sound, I will be glad if this happens)

    9. Want to the next skimpy girl in town( Even if I achieve this one wish, I will be riding on the moon)

    10. Be the CEO of world's no.1 perfume company

    11. play against Pete Sampras and Steffi Graff (and I have would have no qualms after being defeated)

    12. Be able to develop my missing creative skills.

    13. go down the Bermuda Triangle

    14. Work for the investigative division of the FBI.

    15. Marry in the Greek Orthodox style in a palace in Rome. (Now thisis certainly not inspired from Tom Cruise's wedding)

16. Play the part of Hermoine Granger

17. I want to go back in history and witness the Moghul empire and the times of Shivaji Maharaj. ( On the lookout for a time machine)

18. have a great sense of humour and come up with the corniest one-liners ever.(this would be an achievement for me)

19. Want to learn ice-skating, skiing, para-gliding, bungee-jumping, etc etc. Precisely craving to be a pro at adventure sports.

20. Bring back Princess Diana and John F. Kennedy Jr. back to life.

21. Discover an alternative for injections.

22. Be a cryptographer (again courtesy : Robert Langdon)

23. Own Wal-Mart

24. Be a ballerina.

25. Wishing that the wish-list face reality.
